Sons of Beaches

Today we went to the coast. The boys had never been to the ocean before, or to the Tillamook Cheese Factory.
We hit the cheese factory first. The best thing about cheese factory is, of course, the cheese samples at the end of the tour. The boys love cheese. I think it's genetic. Cousin Pooh seemed pretty happy to be there too.
We ate lunch in the cheese factory cafe. Grilled cheese, of course. Grant also got his first taste of potato chips. I think he likes them. We left Tillamook and headed north along the coast to Rockaway Beach. Cole got so excited when he saw all that water that he started running towards it, when we were still a long way off. But he kept running... and running (the wrong way)... and running... ...until he finally made it to the water. When Grant got to the water, he promptly stepped into the first puddle he found. And since it wasn't enough that his feet got wet, he got down and got a little more intimately acquainted with it. Keep in mind that there was a stiff breeze blowing, the air temperature was less than 60° and the water was probably closer to 45° Everything was going great until a small "sneaker wave" came in and knocked both boys down and immersed them in the frigid water. That ended our beach activities for the day.
After a change of clothing the boys played near the car while their cousins continued to play on the beach. Grant found a rock that he liked.
Of course, the only thing better than an interesting rock....
...is two interesting rocks.
Grant wins the photo of the day with his sporty football shot in a shop near the beach.
