A Note From the Boys

Come on in! The water's fine!

New "Neigh"bors

Our new neighbors moved in across the road, and we just love 'em! Family of six, but they're very quiet, and friendly.
We took them some grass to break the ice a little.
Grant felt his personal space was a little invaded by the kiss on the head, but it always takes him awhile to warm up to new friends.

Retrospective

This is one of our favorite photos of the boys, taken in October 2006 by our friend, Alex Maynes, who is a professional photographer. He also did the editing to de-colorize everything but the pumpkins.
This picture is from last Halloween, also taken by Alex, and retouched by Pop.
Finally, this was taken by Alex in December 2006 out by our woodpile. Maybe this is where Grant began his tempestuous relationship with wood.

Throwing Rocks

As already posted by my brother-in-law, we walked down to the river a week ago on our 80° Saturday. We didn't take the video camera but here is a "video" we made from some still shots of the boys throwing rocks.

And here's Grant looking for more rocks to throw. There certainly wasn't a shortage. It's a good thing the water wasn't any higher, although he had already filled his boots at the stream.

Snow is a Four Letter Word

Last Saturday it was 80°. Today, it snowed.

So we went swimming.

Sometimes, Sharing is Easy

For some reason, the boys are almost always willing to share treats with each other. Makes your heart melt, doesn't it?

Row Row Row Your Boots

"Hey Grant, look in here!" "What's Pop doing in at the other end of this pipe?"
"I don't know, but if he drops that camera in the stream he's in big trouble."
ed- It's tough to take a clear picture through a culvert.

Ever Kissed A Seal?

Ma took the boys and my sister and her girls to the zoo today.
The sea lions provided a fascinating backdrop.
I think polar bears are great.
Now Cole has decided what he wants to do when he grows up.
Sometimes the best creatures living in the zoo aren't in a cage.

Cole Pan

It's a good thing he always has his blankie or we might have lost him.

We're reducing his pixie dust intake and cutting back on the happy thoughts.

Consumer Warning!

Be advised that boxes of Oatmeal Crisp - Crunchy Almond flavor cereal are susceptible to sudden explosions. That's the only explanation I can come up with for these disturbing photos. You just can't achieve this kind of coverage without some serious explosive power.

No Cruchers were hurt in this particular explosion but if it happens again, I can't be so certain.

You've been warned, and so have those boys...

The Knack

When your toys just aren't running very smoothly, do what Cole does:
1) Get Ma's special screwdriver out of the drawer (when she's not looking.)
2) Take all the screws out.
3) Check the batteries.

4) Put some of the screws back.
5) Just toss the rest (the vacuum will find them later.)
We are in such big trouble. This will explain our deepest fears:
