Every year, about this time, the sun starts showing up more regularly and it's bitter-sweet. We love that it doesn't rain EVERY day, anymore, but it means that in another month it will stop raining entirely, and the lush green will fade. The lawn turns brown, we have to start watering the garden, it gets miserably hot (80-90°), and it doesn't smell nearly as good around here. So on a rainy day like today (since it will be sunny the rest of the week) we had to get in some good puddle time.
We'll especially miss the rain now that Cole has disabled most of our drip system. (Once all the lights were taken apart, he had to move on.) One may wonder, "what's his mom doing all the time he's taking everything apart? Can't he be stopped?" Well, for one thing, she's too busy taking pictures. For another thing, once something grabs his attention nothing short of locking him in the house will stop him from tinkering with it. He's a little on the obsessive side.

all bodies of water, no matter how small or large (including the cats' water dish.) All
must be splashed, no exceptions, so he keeps on the move. Notice the rain pants (created by Mom & Co.)
We had a lesson on "team work" and practiced pushing the stroller up our entire road. I'm not sure why this is so exhilarating to them, but by the end they were exhausted, and too far from home for walking.
So they had a nice comfy ride home with grapes and blankies.
