After the destruction of the platter from our microwave last November, we have been making do with almost-fit-right platters and balanced plates. Finally, for Mother's Day the boys splurged and bought a new microwave for Ma.
But what to do with the old one?

I am surprised the boys need ANYTHING to stand on. They have very TALL personalities.
We took a walk near the Buckethead's house yesterday and saw creative ways of discarding un-useable appliances and cars. There was a fridge, a bench seat from a car and a whole car that were poised along sides of the back-road which were being covered with vines and foliage. They were quickly becoming part of the landscape.
How about a Crumb Cruncher microwave with jery-rigged parts? In 300 years the metal parts will have become dirt and totally unidentifiable, maybe. Anthropologists will be very interested.
Discards of that type never disappear along NEAZ roads. They are landmark roadsigns letting us know how far to the next destination.
