Before the boys were born Ma and I decided that we would try to not discuss potty topics as part of our regular conversation with friends. By and large I think we have succeeded, but when something momentous occurs, we feel that it's appropriate to share. As you may recall, the boys received a "big boy" potty for
Chrismas, not because we had thoughts of immediate need for it but simply because we have potty training the boys as a goal, a very fondly anticipated goal, but probably a very distant goal. We tried to talk to the boys about the potty and even sat them on it briefly to give them a chance to try it out. They have been pretty enthusiastic about wanting to sit on it and at least once a day one or both of them will express a desire to give it a test drive. Tonight, however, Grant finally got the job done. You can see that he's pretty pleased with himself.
That's liquid gold.

Here he is demonstrating his prize winning form.

After witnessing our standing ovation and congratulatory cheering, Cole even gave it a shot, but had a dry run.

Maybe a little stage fright.

Wow, for someone who vowed not to talk about potty issues with friends, posting a picture of a potty product is a pretty big stretch. Welcome to the dark side.
And congrats, Festus!
Big day! Diapers: yesterday's underpants. Way to go, kiddo. PS, new post over at the Circus. I must have been typing it when you left your taunting mark, Special Someone.
