Grant: Dad, did you see how big of a punch I pulled?
Me: What?
Grant: It's right here!
Ah. Punch = beat = beet.

That cracks me up!
The English language has so many land mines through which to navigate. Otherwise we wouldn't have nearly as much entertainment from youngish learners.
